Primary Medical Care

Three Streams provides primary medical care to all persons whetherstethescope insured or uninsured. The most cost -effective medical care, primary care focuses on prevention and healthy behaviors. You can now dowload our Patient Registration Form and our Financial EligibilityForm directly from the webiste and complete it prior to your visit. Three Streams offers

  • physical exams and ongoing care for chronic conditions
  • health screenings
  • blood testing and collection,
  • Pap testing and occult blood testing onsite.
  • Nutrition counseling

Our practice accepts Medicaid, Blue Cross. MAMSI, United Health and most major carriers. Please bring your card and co-pay at time of service. For our un-insured patients we work on a sliding scale that is based on total family income and household size. Financial verification is required at time of service and we ask that you bring 2 forms of financial income, i.e. tax forms, bank statements, paycheck stubs, etc. Payment is expected at time of service and we do accept Cash, Check, Visa, Master Card and Discover.

Primary Practitioners:

Sausan Campbell, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Campbell graduated from Tufts University in Boston working in medical care to low income families. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, is a native of Bulgaria and speaks 4 languages. She joined Three Streams in October.

 

The Late Charles Blair, MD, Director Emeritus

Dr Blair Dr. Blair began as an advisor to Three Streams from its conception. He became Medical Director in 2003 and served until 2008. He practiced Medicine in Asheville for over 18 years and was the founder of the New Hope Medical Center on Market Street and the Asheville Institute for Parity Achievement. He served the African American Leadership Council as Medical Consultant. He was a graduate of Alcorn State University and Meharry Medical College, and a Kron Scholar Graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Diplomate of American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Blair's contribution to the Asheville community has been extraordinary and he will be missed greatly. May he rest in peace.

 

 

Rev. Christopher E. Newcomb, PA-C, Executive Director and clinician

CEN Fr. Chris started Three Streams in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachain State University,  Physician Associate Degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta Ga., a Master of Ministry degree from St. Michael's Seminary, Charismatic Episcopal Church and was ordained Priest in 2001. He serves as a priest in residence at Church of the Resurrection CEC, Asheville NC. He has worked in Spine Orthopedic Surgery, and General Surgery and in researching and publishing in Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring.

 

John Sexton, FNP, Staff Clinician

JS

John has worked with Three Streams since 2006. He earned his BSN from Emory University School of Nursing, seminary degree from Columbia International University and his MSN and FNP from University of Virginia. John serves the Mission to the World Missionary Service through the Presbyterian Church in America and travels extensively teaching health issues, disease prevention and nursing techniques to indigenous peoples worldwide.

 

 

Current Primary care Patient Hours are:

Monday 9 am-2 pm, Tuesday 9 am-6 pm, Wednesday 9-2 pm, Thursday 9-4 pm. School Sports physicals and Taxi physical need no appointment, but must arrive 30 minutes prior to closing.

 

Mission Hospitals has also significantly removed the financial barrier by offering laboratory testing to our patients without insurance. Additionally, Mission Hospitals will write off Radiology services for qualifying patients.

Asheville Radiology also significantly removes the financial barrier for our un-insured patients by writing off services for interpretation of radiology services through Mission Hospitals.
