In 2001, Three Streams was formed by a group of intrepid Christians who understand that health is more than just feeling okay. True health requires exercise of body, mind and soul. We are all more than just physical creatures. We also have a mind and a soul that can be healthy or sick.
All three of the streams of our lives interact. When one is ill, it will affect the other parts. Just as someone who suffers from chronic stress can develop an ulcer in their stomach, someone with grave spiritual issues can suffer from physical ailments. Someone with a serious medical condition may develop depression, an illness of the mind, and also the soul.
To address these issues,
Integrated Care is the term for providing all of these components under one roof, and it offers a team approach to addressing the 3 streams of health. If medical and mental health providers are given the ability to discuss a patient's needs, understanding of the patient increases and overall care improves!
Three Streams is a non-denominational Christian mission independent of any specific church or denomination and we see ourselves all as part of the One Body of Christ.
Three Streams began as a 2 day per week volunteer clinic and quickly progressed to 5 days per week within 2 years. Patients have always been offered "sliding scale" fees based on income. Three Streams agrees to write off a certain percentage of an uninsured patient's bill based on this income information. Our Board of Directors and staff have been drawn to this ministry from diverse Christian denominations with the goal of making Christ present through healing of Body, Mind and Soul.
